Article Added 15 years ago
A family (Husband, Wife and four children) that were introduced to the sport of Judo want to make a difference in the lives of blind and visually impaired individuals. They have seen children as young as 5 & 6 years old to teenagers and young adults all blind or visually impaired that decided to learn the sport of Judo and how it has positively changed their lives. Judo teaches confidence; making and keeping commitments; development of character; learning humility; respect of others and accepting responsibility. Whether sighted or visually impaired, we all want these characteristics.
Starting on or about August 31, 2009 (weather permiting) Imre Kabai, the loving father and husband of this family is slated to set a record with a 9000 mile flight around the USA in a powered hang glider. The flight will start and end in Monterey, CA. The whole 4 - 6 week trip will record the aerial footage. Stops or fly-overs will include: Golden Gate; Monument Valley; Statue of Liberty; Kitty Hawk (Wright Bros. 1903 Flight); Otay Mesa, San Diego (John Montgomery's first glider flight 1883) and many more. The DVD will be provided to all who donate to the Foundation.
