It is with great pleasure to announce that Alan Garrels of the WA State Department of Service for the Blind has just been awarded the Louis Braille School Distinguished Service Award for his dedication and advocacy for blind and visually impaired individuals. Alan is a friend and supporter of the Blind Judo Foundation and its mission and goals to develop confidence and enhance independence for blind and visually impaired individuals through the sport of Judo. Alan has been an advocate for over 30 years and dedicated to making a difference in the lives locally, regionally and nationally for all who are blind / visually impaired. Congratulations Alan! You are truly outstanding and well deserving of this distinguished Service Award.
