The American Council of the Blind every week has a Web Radio broadcast called "Tuesday Topics. This week Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 Paul Edwards, Host of the show interview Ron Peck, Co-Founder of the Blind Judo Foundation. The audience was very interested in learning about Judo especially as it might apply to blind and visually impaired children, young adults and older individuals. Paul Edwards did his home work soliciting questions about Judo compared to other sports like Karate & TaeKwonDo. How does one find a Judo gym in their local area and is the sport available for "older" individuals (meaning over 30 or 40). The program lasted over an hour and will be available on the Blind Judo Foundation site and GymChat for all to listen to. Charlie Huebner, Chief of Paralympics of the USOC calls Judo the "opportunity sport" for blind and visually impaired individuals.
Thank you to ACB Web Radio and its staff for inviting the Blind Judo Foundation to share their purpose and mission in creating champions of blind and visually impaired children and young adults through the sport of Judo.
