Judge Len calls pro Maks Chmerkovskiy his 'hero' Monday, after his tango with Brandy to the hero lyrics music, week 6 Dancing With The Stars - rock week. Redemption (and encouragement) for Maks, who is shown in this week's pre-dance video supporting Brandy during her emotional week in dance training. A 180 from Len scolding Maks for his coaching tactics weeks earlier, for not being the bodyguard he was playing in their dance, but a bully (DWTS Leader board top is Hills star Audrina Patridge and Tony; pro Maks slap-happy). Brandy and Maks get the highest scores of the night, with an additional 10 from the win of the rock dance marathon too. Maks can't help himself towards the end of the marathon with Brandy over his shoulder - two taps on her bottom.
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough made up for a low scoring routine with a second place finish in the rock dance marathon. Their scores slipped during their paso doble, Judge Carrie Anne providing emotional 'constructive criticism' with no inhibition - telling Jennifer to 'tone it down' and that she's 'out of control', with her feet off the floor. Her passion was evident in their dance, but it came without control in the choreography. They were rocking with the rock star music.
Tony Dovolani got his partner Audrina Patridge ready for their paso doble with some punching lessons to take her intensity/passion to the dance floor. The target was a plastic Judge Bruno face on a punching bag. It worked - but the judges didn't think so...three 8's for Audrina and Tony - but for her technique, not for playing the character in the dance.
Bristol Palin with pro dancer partner Mark Ballas is working on expressing her passion in her dances...an improvement from last week. Judge Len said 'from chimp to almost champ', as they dressed in monkey suits last week. This week it was air guitars - minus one point from Len for breaking hold in the middle of the dance.
The judges didn't see Kurt Warner's technique and polish in his dance with Anna Trebunskaya - her husband in the audience disagreed, as did Anna. The audienced bood the judges.
Cheryl Burke worked on Rick Fox's flow in his tango. Getting better.
Kyle Massey improved his technique in his tango with Lacey Schwimmer, entertaining the crowd as with their other dances. Kyle's brother danced with him at home in Halloween traditional costume for guys - dressing like a girl - so Kyle could have more practice. Good practice for Halloween too.
