Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough tie Brandy & Maksim Chmerkovskiy on "Dancing With The Stars" week 8 leaderboard Monday. Tie in the scores, but Derek's choreography superseded Maks', as Judge Carrie Anne pointed out Maks' & Brandy's pause and late start in the 'Instant Dance', their second routine, and Judge Len agreed...Judge Bruno apparently didn't care, saying he loved their second dance, scoring it a 10. Three well-deserved 10's for Jennifer's & Derek's second dance. Talk about flexibility and music synchness - musicality. The 'Instant Dances' - where they find out their music 20 minutes before their dance - turned out better than dance 1, except for Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas - their first dance was better. Mark said he messed up in a part on the second dance, and that threw off Bristol - they got 7-8-8 on that. Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer started the dances - fun and entertaining with smooth moves. Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya still didn't break into the 9's like how they wanted, but their dance is getting better - more character in his dance as the judges put it. More fun and more energy. Looks like his kids help is helping! Their judging scores were higher too. Next week: no costumes or dance style until 20 minutes before either?! Host Tom Bergeron's good joke.
