The Pacific-10 Conference released its 2010 volleyball preseason coaches poll on Thursday, Aug. 12. California received 48 points and was selected to finish fifth. Four-time defending champion Stanford received six first-place votes and was chosen to repeat with 77 points. The Cardinal narrowly edged out USC, which had 76 points with two first-place votes. Washington was chosen to finish third with 72 points and had two first-place votes as well.
