Freedom Cup & Acrobatic Gymnastics Junior Olympic Nation
Sunny palm springs will host these 2 acro events in July, back-to-back: *the 2007 Freedom Cup (July 20-22) - international competition with some of the world's best acrobatic gymnasts (700+ gymnasts) *the 2007 Acrobatic Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships (July 23-26) - competition of USA's top junior acrobatic gymnasts Location: Palm Springs Convention Center For tickets & more info.: 2007 Freedom Cup: http://www.usa-gymnastics.org/acro/2007/freedom-cup/index.html Acro Juniors: http://www.usa-gymnastics.org/acro/2007/acronationals/index.html Tickets will be available for both events at the Palm Spring Convention Center box office on the days of the competition. Rates: Freedom Cup -> 1-day admission: $15/adult, $7/child; 3-day pass: $40/adult, $15/child; Free for kids under 7 years old. Junior Nationals -> 1-day admission: $20/adult, $10/child; 4-day pass: $65/adult, $30/child. Some of the competitors in the Freedom Cup are: Julian Amaro (Pleasanton, California) & Tyler Spray (Livermore, California) - defending U.S. men's pair champions and 2006 British Open gold medalists Mariah Henninger (Walnut Creek, California), Allysha Kidd (Livermore, California), and Tisa Penny (San Leandro, California) - 2006 U.S. women's group champions Yay California!! Junior & senior competition events include women's pair, men's pair, mized pair, women's group and men's group. A women's group is comprised of a base, middle and top partner, while a men's group has a base, two middle partners and one top partner. Middle partners often are required to show a combination of all attributes.
