The No. 9-ranked California women's tennis team (17-4, 7-1 Pac-10) looks to return to the national championship match as it hosts the opening rounds of the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships this weekend at Hellman Tennis Complex. The Golden Bears draw Northeast Conference champion Long Island (10-7, 3-0 NEC) in their first-round match at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 8. Earlier in the day, No. 31 Texas (16-7, 10-1 Big 12) faces off with No. 41 Pepperdine (13-11) at 10 a.m. The winners of the two matches will meet again in a second round match at noon on Saturday, May 9.
