Romania upset Russia in doubles Saturday to trail 2-1 in the Davis Cup series. Trailing by two sets, Marius Copil and Horia Tecau rallied to defeat Marat Safin and Dimitry Tusunov 4-6, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (4) 7-6 (5), 6-4. The 25th-ranked Safin replaced Teimuraz Gabashvili, a tactic that didn't pay off. It was Romania's first Davis Cup win under new captain Andrei Pavel.
