Baghdatis starts slow, wins in Las Vegas (AP)

Third-seeded Marcos Baghdatis overcame a slow start Tuesday night to win his Tennis Channel Open first-round match against Vincent Spadea. Despite dropping four of the first five games in the opening set, the 22-year-old Baghdatis, from Cyprus, rallied to take the set in a tie-breaker. He went on to win 7-6 (5), 6-1.
