Israel's Peer advances in Qatar Open (AP) Shahar Peer became the first Israeli to compete in a WTA Tour event in the Gulf Arab region Monday, defeating Slovenia's Andreja Klepac 6-3, 6-4 to reach the second round in the Qatar Open.
