Rafael Nadal didn't need much time to advance to the fourth round of the Australian Open on Sunday, a day after the longest session in Grand Slam history. Nadal's match ended before 10:30 p.m., after Paul-Henri Mathieu retired with an injured left calf muscle with the second-ranked Spaniard ahead 6-4, 3-0.
