"To be able to win the gold medal and be the first to three-peat, it means something," said Phelps, whose first gold in London was swimming the anchor on the 4x200 freestyle relay. "It's pretty special and something that I'm very happy for."

2012 Summer Olympics -- Michael Phelps outduels Ryan Lochte to take gold in 200 IM for 20th medal - ESPN
Gold: USA Michael Pheps 1:54.27
Silver: USA Ryan Lochte 1:54.90
Bronze: Hungary Laszlo Cseh 1:56.22.
The London Games started rough for Phelps, but is on a roll now - two golds and two silvers in five races (he won eight golds in eight races in the Beijing Olympics). He has two more races to go: the 100 butterfly on Friday and the 4x100 medley relay on Saturday. It is looking like Phelps will get the gold in the 100 fly - in the semifinal right after his 200 im gold win, he was the top qualifier with 50.86 - more than a half second ahead of South Africa's Chad le Clos, who just beat Phelps in the 200 fly in a close touch to the wall. It will also be a rematch against Serbia's Milorad Cavic who lost to Phelps by a hundredth of a second in the Beijing Olympics. Cavic agrees:

"Phelps is out of our league," Cavic said. "It's not fair that I'm talking for everybody, but I'm expecting something special tomorrow. I think he's going to go 50.5."
