Stade Français picked up a much-needed victory over Toulouse in the Top 14 last weekend as the defending champions struggle to hit form. The 19-17 win saw the Parisiens leapfrog Pau into 11th in the standings, but they are still a full 16 points off current leaders Racing 92.
At the forefront of Stade's performance was winger Hugo Bonneval - son of former French internationalist Eric. The former has been in fine form of late and, after scoring a superb solo try against Treviso in the Champions Cup last month, he was at it again in the French capital.
Bonneval showed a good turn of pace to chase after his kick behind the Toulouse defence and an even greater sense of poise to pick up - on the run - and touch down for the score that ultimately sealed the win.
His inclusion in Guy Novès' provisional squad for next month's Six Nations tournament is testament to the sort of form he, if not his team, is in at the moment.
Is Bonneval the kind of winger Novès needs in his squad? Leave your comments below!
