Tomas Cubelli's outrageous reverse kick for the Barbarians

Livewire Argentina scrumhalf Tomás Cubelli has been signed by the Brumbies on a two-year deal following another great season. Capped 45 times by Los Pumas, Cubelli also featured for the Barbarians against the Wallabies a year ago, and was part of this fantastic bit of play. The signing of Cubelli has pleased Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham, who was heavily involved in the process and met with him last year before the Rugby Championship. "We've seen through his performances in The Rugby Championship and the great form he showed at the Rugby World Cup, particularly against the All Blacks, Tomás has the necessary skills and knowledge of the game to successfully fit into our structure, and be a game-breaker in Super Rugby,” said the former Wallabies playmaker. Brumbies CEO Michael Jones said that Cubelli's decision was made with the full support of Argentina's governing body, who have given him their blessing. "One of the UAR concerns was whether Tomás would be available for los Pumas Test matches and we have assured them that we are keen for him to continue his international career and to play at the top level," he explained, saying the UAR are happy to encourage his further development. Cubelli played for the Barbarians last year and as with BaaBaa's tradition of throwing caution to the wind, he almost created a try with this innovative tap penalty move five meters out. We wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him tear up the turf with the Brumbies.
