Wallabies top 'Pool of death' after resolute defence sees off Wales at Twickenham

The Wallabies continued their dominance over Wales with a courageous 15-6 victory, despite being down to 13 men for almost ten minutes of the second half. Wales put a huge amount of pressure on the two times champions, but their defence stood strong. As a result Australia have claimed top spot in Pool A, meaning they will face Scotland in the quarter final, while Wales face a quarter final encounter with South Africa.

Injuries continue to be a concern for the Welsh, with Liam Williams the latest casualty. He is out of the rest of the World Cup with a foot injury. James Hook is likely to move to the midfield for the quarter final, with George North moving back to the wing. After a phenomenal effort, Wallabies skipper Stephen Moore spoke of the heroics on defence. The secret of #AUS's relentless defence against #WAL? It's not complex, according to captain @stevemoore83 #RWC2015 pic.twitter.com/NQc28F7qS6 — Rugby World Cup (@rugbyworldcup) October 11, 2015
