Luke Charteris and Pascal Pape shown yellow cards for Top 14 fight

Stade Francais beat Perpignan 34-24 at the Stade Charlety in Paris, claiming their second win of the year, and helping them move three points clear of the relegation threat. Near the end of the match a fight erupted, resulting in two yellow cards. Visitors Perpignan scored a stunning long range try through Richard Haughton from a James Hook crosskick, before Hook kept them in the game with the boot. Former fullback Jerome Porical did the same for Stade Francais, while flyhalf Jules Plisson slotted two drop goals in a matter of minutes.Â* Big Sebastien Vahaamahina powered over in the corner for a lovely Perpignan try in the second half, but with fifteen minutes left in the game the scores were tied at 24-24 before Lei Tomiki scored the winning try, to add to another Porical penalty, his eigth kick from nine attempts. Five minutes from time both sides lost players to the sinbin after a scuffle broke out on the back of a maul, which led to multiple punches being thrown. There were a few cheapshots, but locks Luke Charteris and Pascal Pape were the most prominent, so they were handed yellow cards. If you watch carefully, Charteris wasn't even involved in the initial aggro, but soon got involved when Pape clearly took exception to the way he was yanked out of the maul. At this stage it's not entirely clear, but it looks as though there will be a disciplinary hearing on the 10th October. We will confirm as soon as we know for sure. We'll have more Top 14 highlights, including a weekend wrap-up, shortly
