Jonny Wilkinson's trysaving tackle on Andrea Masi

For Wilkinson, that means he’s playing the backup role, which can be slightly frustrating at times, as he said recently.br /br /"It is hell sat on the sideline but at the same time it is massively important. Being on the bench brings new lessons for me," Wilkinson said. "My desire to play for England is still as great as it was when I won my first cap. I am now in a role where I contribute slightly differently."br /br /While not starting, he is playing some top quality rugby and still has the ability to come on and do the business when needed. It’s a great position for England to be in, and injuries aside, Wilkinson will play in his fourth World Cup this year.br /br /"To play and play and play is crucial for me. It's been a while and there were all kinds of different injuries going on. Seven years of coming in for cameo appearances has thrown me around in a way I don't think I'll ever understand fully.br /br /"Your confidence goes with all these things. It has been an interesting journey for me. I've learned that if I want to play rugby I can only play it one way or I don't play it at all. My desire is to keep trying to get better and better. It would mean a huge amount to me to play in a fourth World Cup. I'm in it for the long run and I will give it all I've got and nothing less," he added.br /br /As can be seen in this clip, Wilkinson came on against Italy and showed his commitment to the cause with a sensational try saving tackle late in the game that prevented Andrea Masi from diving in at the corner. It’s been one of the most requested clips this week, so here you go.br /br /centerobject height="288" width="400"param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NwqHLTt5etg?fs=1amp;hl=en_GBamp;rel=0"param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NwqHLTt5etg?fs=1amp;hl=en_GBamp;rel=0amp;showinfo=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="288" width="400"/embed/object/centerbr /div style="text-align: center;"span style="font-size:85%;"span style="font-weight: bold;":: Related Posts ::/spanbr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2011/02/chris-ashton-dives-into-record-books-as.html"Chris Ashton dives into the record books as England punish Italy/abr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2011/02/toby-flood-steers-england-to-victory.html"Toby Flood steers England to victory over Wales in championship opener/abr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2009/10/jonny-wilkinson-real-story-parts-1-4.html"Jonny Wilkinson - The Real Story/abr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2008/02/jonny-wilkinson-hit-knocks-out-jonathan.html"Jonny Wilkinson hit knocks out Jonathan Thomas/abr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2006/08/jonny-wilkinson-hit-against-france.html"Jonny Wilkinson huge hit on Emile N'tamack/abr //span/divspan style="font-size:85%;"span style="font-weight: bold;"Time:/span 01:21/spandiv class="blogger-post-footer"http://www.rugbydump.comimg width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/32316390-6103073926940944199?l=rugbydump.blogspot.com' alt='' //divpa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/tcLQclGKBxH-AYOPd8Gm7qsZv-U/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/tcLQclGKBxH-AYOPd8Gm7qsZv-U/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/tcLQclGKBxH-AYOPd8Gm7qsZv-U/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/tcLQclGKBxH-AYOPd8Gm7qsZv-U/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare"a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/rugbydump?a=bwQYqEOzg-E:eCUMQEk0ljU:yIl2AUoC8zA"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/rugbydump?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"/img/a/divimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/rugbydump/~4/bwQYqEOzg-E" height="1" width="1"/ More...
