Llanelli vs Swansea 2002 - Gavin Henson white hair, red card

It seems like an opportune time to post this amusing clip from 2002, and the highly charged Welsh derby when Henson was shown a straight red card. /spanbr /br /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2008/10/fitting-farewell-to-stradey-park.html"Stradey Park/a had many a fierce encounter in it’s day, but the 2002 derby between Llanelli and Swansea had a little something extra in it. Despite the scoreline ending in an emphatic 62-6 win for Llanelli, the tempers were running high all night.br /br /Swansea ended up having two players sent off, playing over half the match with just 13, as Gavin Henson was shown a straight red card for tossing Garan Evans into the advertising hoardings. Dean Thomas was then shown a second yellow for a high tackle.br /br /It was a humiliation for Swansea, and of course for Henson, who came out with a bit of a white-blue hairstyle that could only be upstaged by an act of, let’s say youthful exuberance. The scenes that followed could have been far uglier, but his nimble footwork helped him out of that one pretty quickly.br /br /Between the hair and the incident, it was a night Henson will have done well to forget.br /br /He’s now hitting the papers again though as his surprise move from London to France means that he’s actually further away from his kids, which was one of his original motivations to move to Saracens.br /br /He’s only played four times for the club, hardly setting the world alight and has yet to show the kind of form that would warrant Wales selection.br /br /He’s a talented player so perhaps the move to Toulon will do him good, and he’ll manage to force his way back into contention with Warren Gatland’s national side before the Rugby World Cup later this year. Let’s hope he leaves the peroxide at home though.br /br /centerobject height="288" width="400"param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OWCD7kUbOeM?fs=1amp;hl=en_GBamp;rel=0"param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OWCD7kUbOeM?fs=1amp;hl=en_GBamp;rel=0amp;showinfo=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="288" width="400"/embed/object/centerbr /div style="text-align: center;"span style="font-size:85%;"span style="font-weight: bold;":: Related Posts ::/spanbr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2008/10/gavin-henson-steps-chris-latham-to.html"Gavin Henson steps Chris Latham to score a great try/abr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2008/03/gavin-henson-knocks-down-shane-horgan.html"Gavin Henson knocks down Shane Horgan/abr /a href="http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2008/10/fitting-farewell-to-stradey-park.html"A fitting farewell to Stradey Park/abr //span/divspan style="font-size:85%;"span style="font-weight: bold;"Time: /span02:06br /span style="font-weight: bold;"Note: /spanThanks to ScrumVbr //spandiv class="blogger-post-footer"http://www.rugbydump.comimg width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/32316390-1714910530857141551?l=rugbydump.blogspot.com' alt='' //divpa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/pbNOgs3IQC19Fq9v7y2qIggTnio/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/pbNOgs3IQC19Fq9v7y2qIggTnio/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/pbNOgs3IQC19Fq9v7y2qIggTnio/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/pbNOgs3IQC19Fq9v7y2qIggTnio/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare"a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/rugbydump?a=uhGcBnf_jmE:9SK0yqzhO5I:yIl2AUoC8zA"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/rugbydump?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"/img/a/divimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/rugbydump/~4/uhGcBnf_jmE" height="1" width="1"/ More...
