Los Angeles Galaxy forward Robbie Keane was named Major League Soccer's 2014 Most Valuable Player on Wednesday, days before his team's Sunday showdown with New England for the MLS Cup crown. The Ireland international, in his fourth season with the Galaxy, recorded 19 goals and was credited with 14 assists in 29 regular-season matches. Keane, 34, finished ahead of the Seattle Sounders' Nigerian forward Obafemi Martins and the New England Revolution's Vietnamese-American midfielder Lee Nguyen for the league's highest individual honor.
