Russian driver Mikhail Aleshin was in a serious condition in a California hospital on Saturday with a concussion, broken ribs and chest injuries after an IndyCar qualifying crash. Aleshin had qualified for Saturday's race in Fontana, east of Los Angeles, when he was involved in a flying wreck on the final practice run of Friday night. IndyCar medical consultant doctor Terry Trammell issued a statement early Saturday detailing Aleshin's injuries, which include "fractured ribs, a broken right clavicle, a concussion and chest injuries."
