New Zealand's Scott Dixon, the defending IndyCar season champion, started last in a field of 22 but battled to the front to win the Indy 200. Dixon collected his 34th career IndyCar triumph, his fifth career victory at Mid-Ohio and his third at the course in four years. It was Dixon's first triumph of the year and also the first of the season for Chip Ganassi Racing, whose drivers have won six in a row at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn layout. Canada's James Hinchcliffe was third with Colombian rookie Carlos Munoz fourth and American Graham Rahal fifth.
