Matt Kenseth stormed to victory in the opening Budweiser Duel qualifying race Thursday night at Daytona International Speedway, edging Kevin Harvick and Kasey Kahne in a three-wide finish and showing strength in preparation for Sunday's season-opening Daytona 500. Kenseth, a two-time Daytona 500 winner and the runner-up in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series last year, led the most laps (31) in the opening 60-lap, 150-mile qualifier. He withstood one last-ditch, last-lap pass attempt from Harvick, who had to settle for second place by a slim margin of .022 seconds at the checkered flag. Based on Thursday night's result, he'll start third in Sunday's Daytona 500 (1 p.m. ET, FOX).
