anyone watch the ice skating world championships?! it's been on thursday, friday, today (saturday), and tomorrow is the show part - exhibition, on espn, re-airings on espn2. the dance skating was won by a bulgarian pair - the girl used to be a gymnast! she has bigger arms than most of the other girl skaters (not skinny spaghetti-like arms, with like no muscle you know - but not the muscle definition of a gymnast); that probably helps in doing those cool harder lifts! ice dancing / pairs skating is kind of like rhythmic gymnastics / artistic gymnastics, you know?! kinda sorta! :D

ya, it's cool! Surya Bonaly from France does awesome tricks on the ice - back layout, step-out - gymnastics tricks - she was a gymnast - now she's in pro skating, not amateur. it's funny when she was in amateur skating the judges used to bother her about not wearing tights and score her lower - they can't do that much now with the skating new scoring system, no 10.0 like in elite gymnastics meets now! Michael Weiss has the back flip with a twist on the ice I think - his dad was a former gymnast and taught him along with others like Scott Hamilton!
