"I have to respect the fact she has her own feelings. She was doing the growing up, and now it's my turn to grow up," Valeri Liukin said, laughing. "The very, very good thing that helps me is Nastia's a very smart girl, and she's such a self-driven individual. She understands she's not going to get things done if she doesn't work."[/quote] Some gyms and coaches don't like it when you do share and are older and also have the knowledge and experience to have the views and aren't shy to share them. Respect both ways is important.

ATT blue room did a video a while back on gymnasts who have their mom or dad as their coach: Nastia & Valeri Liukin, Chellsie & Andy Memmel, Jana & Andrea Bieger, and Alexander "Sasha" & Vladimir Artemev http://attblueroom.com/sports/mediaplayer.php?cid=178707&tab=&artist= There are video clips of Nastia's dad there - Valeri does pommel horse flares on p-bars and an awesome triple back from the high bar (also is known for the first to do triple back on floor!).
