buy gym or open new gym?
What do you think about buying a gymnastic club that already has students, programs, etc. vs. opening a new gym, starting 'fresh'?

Starting your own club from fresh is exciting! You don't have to worry so much about integrating your ideas with the gym's current ways, because it's fresh! On the other hand, buying an existing gymnastics club could mean already having a good number of students and gymnasts already enrolled, and not having to worry so much of advertising it and getting people to come join. Then again, you know, 'build it and they will come'! Especially if you're a well known respected coach, they will come.

Starting fresh and starting your own club is good especially if you're an experienced well-known coach who is known for knowing what they're doing, because then you can be more confident that gymnasts and newbies will come to your gym. You control the atmosphere of the gym. It's easier to build the atmosphere and how your gym is going to be than to understand the current gym system and rules of the club you buy and change them. Plus it's exciting!

If you like coaching and really enjoy coaching then you should make sure to hire someone to take care of the paper-work side of owning a club, and that business side of it - because or else a lot of your time will be working in the office!
