Annoying things...
Annoying things you find in a gymnastics club: They say they have the state-of-the-art facility with the most up-to-date equipment, and an Olympic size floor -> they don't have even 1 sting mat, the couple 8-inchers you may find are all hollowed out-no support at all, a couple panel mats that have gone soft and look old and even have the names of another gym on them, and guess what, the Oympic size-floor can be like your living room with a carpet - no springs! They have spots in their gym where it feels like you're walking on concrete with a thin layer covering over it... Ok so they do have a pit, but the design of the gym is so poorly designed that it can only be used for a high bar which they switch off between the men's and women's high bar - a state-of-the-art facility should have a pit available for each event - you don't need a separate pit for each event - with a good design you can do it in 2 big pits for both the men's and women's events. And there is no room around the bars for skills such as a run straddle over the bar catch the high bar. They can't host a optional meet at their gym even if they wanted to. Now that's good marketing, huh? Post yours too.

I think we're the opposite. Our equipment isn't the latest/greatest, but we have tons of great 8-inchers, 4-inchers, panel mats, sting mats, 2 port-a pits(that we use for bars, beam, and level 3/4 vault). But we do have a spring floor! although our gym is quite small so we don't have the whole thing up while the boys are in season b/c we need room for their highbar. I hate our tumble track! It is too short and hardly bouncy. The one thing that bugs me is how the brouchure says we're levels 3-9 and we got our first level 9 two years ago (it's always said that) and we don't even have on anymore.

Tumble traks been getting bad recently - the loose kind that doesn't feel springy, in this gym and in another I was visiting, it's weird. It used to feel nice and tight and bouncy - like a tight version of a regular trampoline and that is long. And even the texture's uneven. The old one got changed b/c it was old and got a soft sport esp. at the end of it where you punch a lot; but the new one turned out bad throughout the whole tumble trak! Good to know - 'olympic size floor' without the 'spring floor' part could mean there's no springs! Some gyms even have on their website that they are levels 4-elite when they don't even have one elite - guess it means they offer it, like if you come there as an elite, they will teach you! lol

They can go into marketing.

The upcoming events listed for a local gymnastics club here has the only things listed as Upcoming Events on their website calendar "Tuition Due", next month event, "Tuition Due"...and also the holidays that the gym is closed. I used to go there and now we compete against them. They are really business focused and it shows! Why not take the time to post the club events as well besides when the money is due and when not to show up.
