Tiger Woods statement of apology - not clear when he will be back to competitive golf
Tiger Woods made a 13 minute statement this Friday morning, from the clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass, home of the PGA Tour, apologizing in front of about 40 of his family and friends that he chose to be in the room, only a few jourinalists there, no questions to be taken - so controlled situation. His wife was not there.
"I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did was not acceptable," said Woods, looking composed and speaking in a steady voice. His wife, Elin, was not with him. As for coming back to the PGA Tour, the planet's best golfer said: "I do plan to return to golf one day. I just don't know when that day will be. I don't rule out it will be this year."

When Woods finished, he hugged his mother and she whispered in his ear. "I said 'I'm so proud of you. Never think you stand alone. Mom will always be there for you and I love you,"' Kultida Woods said. Admitting he felt he "deserved to enjoy the temptations" that came with his fabulous success, Woods said he is solely responsible for his actions. "I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior," Woods said.
AT&T and Accenture have ended their endorsement contracts with him, Nike still stands by him and looks forward to him coming back to competitive golf when the time is right (they issued out a written statement). Watch the video of Tiger Wood's statement on ABC online: Tiger Woods: Sorry for behavior, unsure of return - 2/19/10 - San Francisco News - abc7news.com Tiger's statement sounds robotic and rehearsed, but under the circumstances and that he is typically a private person, that seems understandable (of course one may say there was a reason he kept his personal life private...), but he did seem sincere.

He looks like he gained a few pounds...like 10 pounds..or at least 5 or 6 pounds. I know it's not like gymnastics where it's such a big deal what your muscle to fat ratio is, but I remember watching a program where he was outlining all the training he does, lifting weights and working out, not all just on the green. So no wonder he looks kind of out of shape, as he is not following his usual top training regime, and doing rehab. He'll get back on top though when he wants.
