Defensive end Jerry Hughes is staying with the Buffalo Bills after signing a five-year contract worth more than $45 million on Monday, a day before being eligible to become a free agent. The Bills announced the signing and scheduled a news conference for Hughes later Monday. Though Hughes garnered plenty of attention from other teams during the NFL's three-day negotiating period that opened Saturday, his preference was to remain in Buffalo and play under new head coach Rex Ryan, the person said.
