East Carolina says defensive end Terrell Stanley is in critical condition after he and a teammate were involved in a single-car accident in Greenville. School officials said Wednesday that Stanley was being treated at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville after the accident Wednesday morning. Coach Ruffin McNeill says in a statement that Stanley ''has showed signs of steadily improving'' and that the player's family has gathered with teammates and coaches.
