DHS providing extra security for Super Bowl (Yahoo Sports)
The Homeland Security Department is sending hundreds of employees to help with security at this weekend's Super Bowl. Customs and Border Protection will screen cargo bound for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, including stadium hotdogs, beers and souvenirs set to be sold at the game. The Transportation Safety Administration is deploying teams of Federal Air Marshals, security screeners, behavioral detection officers and canine teams to screen people and bags headed to the game. The Coast Guard and border protection officers will keep an eye on the waterways and airspace near the stadium, while other border protection officers and Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be watching for vendors selling knock-off NFL gear.
