A struggling Chicago Bears defense will wait at least one more week to get seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs back after fracturing his left shoulder. Bears coach Marc Trestman on Friday ruled Briggs out for Sunday's game at Cleveland, but added chances look better for a return in the Dec. 22 game at Philadelphia. ''He (Briggs) got more work today and we'll see how he is the first of the week, but it raises our optimism certainly.'' Briggs practiced on a limited basis Thursday and Friday, the first he's practiced since suffering the injury Oct. 20 at Washington. In the six games before Briggs' injury, the Bears allowed 102 yards.
