Dancing en pointe can cause damage to your feet if you do it a lot, or start doing it when you're not ready, too inexperienced. It's kind of like wearing high heels a lot, but worse. It squinches your toes together, can cause bunions, besides bruises, cuts, bleeding, and also you're putting a lot of weight on 2 single points, sometimes one when you're doing the moves on one foot. Like that ballet movie, "Center Stage" - the bleeding from your ballet shoes isn't made up. It's hard to have all your body weight on one point, and you can also pull tendons in your feet, ankle, need to be very careful not to misstep and break foot/ankle.
So, good to take care of your feet. If they hurt too bad, take breaks. Ice, soak in warm water. Soaking in warm water with epsom salt can help with the skin healing when it's not cut open yet.
