NZ cyclist band over doping attempt (AP)
New Zealand track cyclist Adam Stewart has been banned for two years for attempting to use a banned substance. Stewart, a sprinter who was due to race in October in the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, was banned by New Zealand's Sports Tribunal on Thursday for the attempted use of erythropoietin (EPO) and for possession of human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG).
