The Minnesota Twins have placed infielder Nick Punto on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hip flexor. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire made Punto his starting third baseman just before the season started. But he has played in only three games and is hitting .125. The move is retroactive to April 16.
