Brian Shaffer allowed only two hits and struck out eight in a complete-game effort as sixth-seeded Maryland ousted Indiana from the Big Ten Tournament with a 3-0 victory on Friday. The win was the second of the tournament for the Terrapins (30-26) over the third-seeded Hoosiers (32-24), and Maryland will next face Iowa on Saturday morning. Shaffer (8-3) needed only 102 pitches to earn the win, with Marty Costes putting Maryland up early with a two-run home run in the first inning.
