Reliever Fernando Rodney and the San Diego Padres completed their $2 million, one-year contract on Thursday. The 38-year-old right-hander, who agreed to the deal on Jan. 20, split last season between the Seattle Mariners and Chicago Cubs, going 5-5 with 16 saves and a 5.68 ERA. Rodney gets a $1.6 million salary this year, and the Padres have a $2 million option for 2017 with a $400,000 buyout.
