The Mets have cut reserve outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis, making room on the roster for hot-hitting minor leaguer Darrell Ceciliani. New York selected Ceciliani's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas Tuesday before playing the St. Louis Cardinals and designated Nieuwenhuis for assignment.
