
Craig Counsell capped his first day as a big league manager in the best way possible: with a victory. The Milwaukee Brewers rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to win in Counsell's managerial debut, 4-3 over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. ''It's a very special day,'' said Counsell, who took over for Ron Roenicke, who was fired Sunday night. ''It was a blur a little bit, quite honestly, but it's a special day.'' Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw was denied his 100th career win, and took a no-decision.
