Murphy's 3-run homer in 9th lifts Mets over Marlins 3-1 (Yahoo Sports)
 Mets manager Terry Collins came up with a headline for the New York tabloids to describe second baseman Daniel Murphy's role in a comeback win Monday night. Murphy hit a three-run homer with one out in the ninth inning, and the Mets snapped the Miami Marlins' five-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory. The Marlins grabbed the lead in the eighth with three consecutive two-out singles, breaking up Dillon Gee's shutout bid in a game that took only 1 hour, 58 minutes.
