After a tame start to the season, the Padres hit the ball all over the yard to back new ace James Shields, who outpitched October nemesis Madison Bumgarner in a 10-2 victory against the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night. San Diego had 20 hits off three pitchers, matching its Petco Park record. Matt Kemp had four hits, while Yangervis Solarte and Will Middlebrooks had three each.
