Mike Trout and Matt Shoemaker were in midseason form during the Freeway Series exhibition opener. So was aggressive right fielder Yasiel Puig. Trout homered his first time up in Southern California since being selected AL MVP, and Shoemaker pitched effectively into the seventh innings in his final spring tuneup to lead the Los Angeles Angels over the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 Thursday night.
