Yang Wei is expected to lead the mens team to gold - he's an all-around gymnast. Xiao Qin, a.k.a. "King of the pommel horse'!! could get the world pommel horse champion title again. Liang Fuliang is also working for all-around like Yang.
Feng Jing is on the Worlds team for China b/c of Huang Xu's injury - he won the Worlds individual AA title 6 yrs. ago.
The new-comers: Chen Yibing - good at rings, and good for aa too; Dong Zhendong - good on pommel horse; Zou Kai - good at floor
Leading the women's team is Zhang Nan - she won bronze at the World Championships adn Olympics individual all-round competitions. Cheng Fei is also another experienced gymnast for China's women's team - she speciailizes in floor and vault - she's the first Chinese woman to win a gold medal in vault at the World Championships! She got a vault named after her at the 2005 Worlds - called 'the Cheng' - it is considered perhaps the most difficult vault attemped by a female gymnast.
Li Ya is strong on uneven bars / balance beam. Pan Panpan is good for all-around - good for all events. Huang Lu's specialty is uneven bars, Zhou Zhuoru's is balance beam. And 15 year old He Ning is good for all-around.
