The women's artistic gymnastics competition started with the team qualifying round. The top 8 teams qualify to the team finals. And in individual competition, the top 8 gymnasts on each event advance to the event finals for that event and the top 24 gymnasts advance to the all-around competition - not really the top though, as there is still the 2 gymnasts only from each country rule...
