He will go for his fifth Olympic medal win during the rings event final on August 6.

USA finished first in the prelims, but out of the medals during team finals, finishing 5th. Three up - three count - China had some messups during the qualifying round but put up strong routines during the team finals to clinch the gold again, as they did in the Beijing Olympics. Japan almost was out of the medals, with the judges not counting Kohei Uchimura pommel horse dimount as going through the handstand - the Japanese coaches challenged the low score with a Benjamin (you have to pay now to make an appeal) and it got accepted, they got their money back, and the Japanese won bronze. The British team won the bronze, and Ukraine went down to 4th place. In the stands cheering with the crowd were Prince William and Prince Harry. Awesome high bar high flying release moves. Awesome high flying vaults - and some sticks. Men's pommel horse is like women's beam - sometimes hard to stay on. Men's individual all-around is Wednesday. Maybe a medal for the men's USA gymnastics?
